Yellow Rocket Training Limited
Young people today are perceived by many as troublesome, irresponsible and anti-social. However, they are often not encouraged to build their own identity, develop at their own pace or given the space to belong.Yellow Rocket Training Limited is run by Jon and Su Pickerill and provides bespoke training for professionals and volunteers who work with young people, especially those young people who are marginalized or socially excluded.
We offer quality, affordable training and deliver a mixure of theory and practical techniques to better understand and engage with young people.

We offer bespoke training to individuals or groups. For example; working one-to-one or in a group setting with young people, managing challenging behaviour, current issues facing young people, youth cultures, mental health and its effects, safeguarding yourselves and others, encouraging participation, perceptions of young people and how to better engage with them.
Please get in touch to discuss your particular requirements. We also offer a consultancy service which many new or struggling youth clubs and groups have found very beneficial.

Training courses can be for one hour to several days, depending on your needs.
Prices start from £100 an hour for a group of up to 15 people, including design and delivery.

[...THE TRAINERS]
Jon Pickerill is a Youth Programmes Manager with many years of front-line youth work experience. He has worked closely with young offenders, those with behavioural problems, drug and alcohol dependencies and young people suffering low self-esteem or low confidence. Jon believes passionately in the innate goodness of young people and the need to encourage and motivate them to find their own voice and place in society so they can make a positive contribution towards it.
Jon has a degree in Psychology and Management and a Masters Degree in Youth Work and Community Development. He is a professionally qualified youth worker and ESB endorsed community worker. Jon is also a qualified NVQ Assessor and has an adult education teaching qualification.
Su Pickerill is a Corporate Responsibility Analyst, encouraging and monitoring environmental initiatives and community engagement. She is also a volunteer youth worker. Su has many years experience of working, both professionally and as a volunteer, with children and young people in a variety of contexts including outdoor activity camps, youth cafes, youth councils, mentoring programmes, enterprise/employability skills education and youth groups.She also has considerable first-hand understanding of the joys and challenges of managing volunteers!
Su has a degree in Psychology and Management, is a qualified Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner and has an adult education teaching qualification.
Training on specialised subjects such as mental health is led by our partner professionals in that field.
